Round two is now open
First of all, thank you for your interest in ConnectNYC! The first round closed in December 2012, and connected 29 companies with high-speed Internet through Time Warner Cable Business Class and Cablevision, with several more companies currently in negotiations. We recognize how important secure and reliable high-speed Internet is to growing companies, and are excited to launch the second round of the ConnectNYC Fiber Access program this month.
As a result of the great feedback shared in the first round, we've made changes to the program to help more businesses connect to fiber infrastructure.
In this round:
- NYC businesses with up to 500 employees are now eligible to apply
- A streamlined application process for businesses
- More Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have been added to give participants more choice in selecting their fiber packages
- Businesses falling into multiple service areas will now be able to get quotes from all participating providers for their area
- A guide to fiber has been created to help you decide if fiber is the right choice for your business needs
- Applications will be reviewed, approved, and shared with ISPs on a rolling basis through December 12, 2013, or until the funding has been exhausted
Please visit NYCFiberAccess.com for full details and to submit your application for free construction and installation of fiber cable to your business' office space.
If you applied in the first round, but did not qualify: please review our new eligibility criteria and apply again.
If you applied in the first round, but did not sign a contract: please review the list of new participating Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to see if your business falls in their service area and apply again.
If you applied in the first round, and are still negotiating a contract: you do not need to submit another application.
